Automatic BDF updates

BrowserHawk provides several powerful features to automate the maintenance of your browser definition files – thereby reducing your work load and allowing you to concentrate on more pressing issues. And perhaps the most powerful feature for automated maintenance is the cyScape Update Service.

This service provides the ability to automatically check for updated BDF files from cyScape, and download them automatically for you when available.  It will even send you an email notification that a new file has been installed for you, along with a list of what's new in the latest update! Everything you need to completely automate the maintenance of your BDFs is included.

The cyScape Update Service runs in the background as a system  service and automatically monitors cyScape for updates to the browser definition files. Updates are then downloaded and installed for you automatically.  Although you can use BrowserHawk's integrated BDF download feature to manually check for an updated file, the cyScape Update Service automates this task for you.

The service checks with the cyScape servers for updated browser definitions on a regular interval, which you configure. It also enable you to specify your email information so it can notify you when updated are downloaded and installed.

Note: The cyScape Update Service is installed by default. If it is not present on your machine, rerun the BrowserHawk installation program and choose the option to install it.  Note that this service requires version 2.0 or higher of the .NET framework.
