How does cyScape define a 'Production' machine?
Created: 10/31/2007    Updated: 10/31/2007
Q   Can you please tell me how you define a 'production' machine?

A   A purchased license of BrowserHawk is required for each production machine BrowserHawk is installed on. BrowserHawk licenses for non-production machines are provided at no charge.

cyScape defines a production machine as any machine used either partially or entirely for purposes other than development and testing.

If it is unclear to you whether a particular machine would be considered as a production machine for licensing purposes, please keep the following in mind:

  • You may not use purchased production license key(s) on non-production machines. Rather, cyScape provides a special development-only license for use on non-production machines. Development only licenses have usage restrictions. If these restrictions would interfere with your use of BrowserHawk, then a purchase license is required for that machine.
  • To receive non-production licenses of BrowserHawk for use on one or more machines at no charge, you must purchase at least one production licnese.
