Each time a user from your Authorized Domain(s) runs the browser check it counts as one use of the service. If your usage goes over this limit we will notify you, and ask you to consider moving to the next higher service level. If overuns continue your account may be temporarily disabled until the beginning of the next billing cycle. Note that this total applies to total tests across all your Authorized Domains (not per authorized domain). [hide]

If you exceed the maximum allowed number of tests per month you can add additional blocks of 200, 1000, and 4,500 for the Basic, Pro, and Adv plans respectively. You may add multiple blocks as long as the total does not exceed the starting usage level in the next higher plan. For example, if you have the Basic plan but you need 400 tests per month, you can add an additional block of 200 for a total of 400. If later your usage grows and you need more, you can keep adding blocks of 200, up to a total of 1,000 since that is the starting level of the next service plan. [hide]

Each test you define involves checking one or more "properties" of the user's browser and system. For example, if you check the browser type, version, cookies, Flash, and connection speed, then you are using 5 out of your maximum allowance. [hide]

A "test" consists of a group of one ore more browser properties that are checked to ensure you users meet a specific requirement of your site. For example, you may have one test that checks the user's browser, cookies, Flash plug-in, and connection speed. Although Free accounts do not provide for any customized tests, these accounts still have access to a library of useful pre-configured tests. [hide]

An Authorized Domain is the domain name of the web Site(s) which is authorized to use the service for your account. By default the service provides a library of useful pre-configured tests you can select from, based on your service level. For example, one such test checks the user's browser type and version, platform, cookies, JavaScript, and Flash version. [hide]

With this option you can create your own custom tests using pre-existing tests we provide as a template or by creating tests from scratch. Tests are created as XML files which you then upload to the BrowserHawk To-Go server. [hide]

Not only is the output from the tests completely customizable, but the entire look and feel is customizable as well! Change the window size, graphics, colors, icons in the test results, fonts, styles, background - everything! By default there is a "Powered By" link at the bottom of the test results table. If someone clicks on that link, and goes on to open a paid account with us, you will earn a referral fee as a credit on your service. Or if you prefer not to display this link, you can opt to remove it if your service level permits this option. [hide]

After a user runs a test, they can click on a link to send their results to your support team, along with their contact information and a description of their issue. You have full control over options such as where the submissions are emailed to, the subject line, and the message priority. [hide]

Once a month the system will email you a report detailing the activity for your Authorized Domains. The report includes information such as the number of times your users ran a test, the % of users that failed one or more checks in a test, the % of users that experienced one or more warnings with a test, the % of users that passed all checks in a test, and so forth. You can integrate the service into your site's "pipeline" by specifying JavaScript functions or URLs to be called, based on the results of the test. For example, suppose you want to integrate the browser checks into your site's login function. You can call the service from your login page, and the service will automatically return control to you letting you know that the user has met all your requirements. Or in the case where requirements fail, you can choose to allow the user to resolve the issue using the automated help, and then your page will be signaled when the user has resolved the issues and is ready to proceed. The service can also integrate with ANY external data you wish to base your tests off of. This can be additional browser or system data you collect through your own means, or any arbitrary data you wish. For example, you can programatically pass in a status code, and have your test (among other actions) warn a user with a customized message based on the status code falling in a certain range. [hide]
