Converting from browscap.ini

BrowserHawk provides tremendous advantages over older technologies and methods traditionally used before BrowserHawk was available. This guide provides you with specific information on how to effortlessly convert from using the Microsoft browser capability component and browscap.ini to using BrowserHawk.

BrowserHawk is 100% backward compatible with the Microsoft browser capability component. This means that you only need to replace the "MSWC.BrowserType" string used in your Server.CreateObject commands with "cyScape.browserObj" in your ASP scripts to get up and running quickly with BrowserHawk.

However, there are a few minor differences as the result of improved browser detection that you should be aware of. In some cases you may need to make minor modifications to your scripts. This section outlines these differences.
